Two Thousand and Twenty Five Horizons

Heron to a Full Moon, Indigo and Madder Root on Linen 48×48”
Two Thousand and Twenty Five Horizons

Season’s greetings to all our wonderful friends and patrons. We appreciate you witnessing our devotional practice of art making, exploring color, and providing a medium through which the spirit of non human world can be expressed. Our work with dye plants is a method of communing with the unseen, and allowing the hidden magic of the world around us to be shared in a harmonious expression. Across all seasons the work reflects the communion of thought, forms, water, plant, and man. We reflect on this collaboration with gratitude as we continue to generate expressions of watery landscapes and limitless horizons.

A New Years Sale.

We are excited to announce our first painting sale to call in the new year. During our first season we were delighted to find homes for nearly every one of the works in our larger Pond series. These pieces come together slowly, as we first dye larger canvases at the indigo vat, divide these into several flower baths, and finally piece them together at our home studio. The vibrating images created were inspired by a hike Dan & I went on with my parents to celebrate my father’s 60th birthday. We hiked 26 miles of “The Beaten Path,” a gorgeous, alpine-lake filled trek through the Absaroka-Beartooth mountains

As a thank you for supporting our maiden voyage into the art market, we wanted to offer a one-time discount on the original series of Ponds we created. These pieces were so popular we ran out of the large size (60”x40”) — except for Parallel Dreams. If you saw any of the larger pieces in our booth but decided they were too large for your space – we have great news. The remaining pieces from the original series are a bit smaller (48×36”), and we are selling them each for $1200 (a $300 markdown). You can click on the title below each piece to visit it on our website.
Now available for only $1200:

Astral Matter – dyed with indigo, madder root, and pomegranate on cotton 48×36”

After the Storm – indigo, madder root, and pomegranate on cotton 48×36”

The Pond – dyed with indigo, madder root, and pomegranate on cotton 48×36”

Sound of Many Waters – dyed with indigo, madder root, and pomegranate on cotton 48×36”

If you are interested in any of the original Ponds, please respond to this email or contact us directly at studio@thoughtforms.art. If you are located within 100 miles of Philadelphia we can deliver and install your piece for an additional fee. Please reach out with any questions.
Want a bigger size?

Parallel Dreams, indigo, pomegranate, and madder root on cotton (60×40”)
Please note we still have one of the largest sizes still available – Parallel Dreams, pictured above. We are currently working on a new series of Ponds, each which will embody a distinct energetic signature and unique marks made at our dearly beloved indigo vat. Do not forget that the indigo vat is a living entity that must be nourished and balanced to yield a potent and passionate blue.
That said, don’t be shy – reach out and ask about Parallel Dreams if she is speaking to you.
… Work in Progress …

It’s application season, so our plate is heavy with preparing for the upcoming 2025 show season. We look forward to sharing our Spring schedule with you as soon as we can, as well as all the new pieces in the work. In the meantime, we’ll be toiling away in our (freezing) studio, indulging in sewing projects in our cozy home studio, and excitedly preparing a new series of Ponds + Portals to bring harmony into your beautiful homes.
Commissions
Several folks have asked us if we could recreate a painting in a particular color scheme or in a particular size. Barring some constraints: yes, we would love to create a piece to harmonize your space. If you are located within 100 miles of Philadelphia, we can deliver and install your painting once it is complete. If you are interested in a commission please contact us directly at studio@thoughtforms.art or by responding to this email.
